Handicap Verification Policy
To uphold the integrity and fairness of competition across NCG’s Top 100s Tour, this policy outlines the standards and verification process for player handicaps. It ensures that all prize winners’ handicap indexes accurately reflect their demonstrated playing ability based on recent, verifiable performance.
1. Handicap Verification
- All prize winners in every NCG’s Top 100s Tour event will have their handicap index verified following the conclusion of play.
- Verification will be conducted using the World Handicap System (WHS) or relevant national handicap databases (such as England Golf, Scottish Golf, Wales Golf, Golf Ireland, or the USGA GHIN system).
- The Tour Committee reserves the right to withhold prizes until handicap verification is completed.
2. Eligibility Requirements
Club-Affiliated Golfers
To be eligible for prizes on NCG’s Top 100s Tour:
- Players must hold a valid WHS handicap index issued through an affiliated golf club or national governing body.
- Their handicap record must include at least five (5) competitive scores within their most recent 20 rounds.
- “Competitive scores” refer to rounds submitted in official WHS-qualifying competitions (e.g., medals, opens, or recognized club events).
Independent Golfers (iGolf Participants)
- iGolf members must have completed a minimum of 20 qualifying rounds within the 12 months prior to the event.
- These rounds must be submitted and verifiable through the iGolf platform or other approved digital handicap system.
3. Prize Verification & Disqualification
- Handicap verification will be carried out after each event.
- If a winner does not meet the above eligibility criteria, they will be disqualified from prize contention, and prizes will be re-awarded to the next eligible competitor.
- Should a discrepancy be identified after prizes are issued, the player will be retrospectively disqualified, and any prize reclaimed.
- Intentional misrepresentation or manipulation of handicap data may result in suspension or permanent exclusion from future NCG’s Top 100s Tour events.
4. Appeal Process
Players may appeal any decision by submitting a written request to the Tour Committee within 7 days of notification. All appeals must include supporting documentation such as verified handicap records, score history, or official competition results.
5. Tour Committee Authority
The NCG’s Top 100s Tour reserves the right to:
- Conduct random handicap audits at any time.
- Liaise with governing bodies and digital handicap providers to confirm data accuracy.
- Amend or update this policy as necessary to maintain the integrity of the competition.
