The Top 100s Tour to visit the Scottish East Coast in July

by The NCG Top 100s Tour | January 7, 2021

We are pleased to announced further venues have been added to the Top 100s Tour as we continue to grow our most comprehensive schedule to date.

In July, we will visit two stellar courses ranked inside the top 35 of our Scotland Top 100s ranking list – with Panmure and Montrose making up our Scottish East Coast Swing.

About Panmure

If you picture Scottish links golf in your mind’s eye, you would probably come up with something that looks a lot like Panmure, next door to legendary Carnoustie.

With swirling sea-breezes, rolling fairways, tight turf and rivetted bunkers and smooth greens, no wonder it caught the eye of Ben Hogan when he came here to qualify for his only Open appearance in 1953. He would go on to win the Claret Jug.

About Montrose

New courses have virtues all of their own but those that date back practically half a millennium have a certain charm impossible to match. One such example is Montrose.

Whether you believe golf as we know it today was invented in these isles or across the North Sea in the Netherlands – and there is no definitive answer – what is beyond doubt is that it was here, on Scotand’s east coast, that the game took hold. And with links courses like Montrose, it is small wonder.
