Sand Moor is one of the most attractive courses in Yorkshire.

Situated some 5 miles to the North of Leeds City Centre in rolling countryside, there are splendid views over Eccup reservoir and the Yorkshire Dales and as far as the White Horse on the North York Moors.

The 18-hole par-71 championship course was originally developed in the 1920’s with the assistance of the renowned Dr Alister Mackenzie, who worked on many courses in the Leeds area and would later help to design the famous Augusta National layout.

Sand Moor is most notable for its quite outstanding collection of par 3s. There are five in total, and all call for something slightly different. What they have in common is the ability to ruin your scorecard and simultaneously make you want to return to the tee and play them again.

With Alwoodley, Moortown and Moor Allerton all close by, Sand Moor is located in an area blessed with an outstanding array of courses.
