Kilspindie, tucked away between Aberlady and Gullane is all too easy to miss yet contains within 5,500 yards every element of links golf you could wish for.
Set on the coast with views across to Fife and of the Edinburgh skyline, Kilspindie is the kind of course that comes to mind on dark winter days, reminding you of a distant and special experience. It is at its very best on a summer’s evening with friends. Kilspindie will not beat you up – though it will surprise those who take good scores for granted.
There are plenty of birdie chances, it is true, but also several holes where par is a good score. Well bunkered, if you treat it with respect you should be able to negotiate most holes without serious difficulty, though get greedy at your peril!
